Trasteverooms La Bernardon

It's all about the location.

We left the apartment today, and the owner's kindness and willingness to help were exceptional. The location was also good, in a beautiful historic building in Trastevere, with every convenience right nearby. But the apartment itself was extremely neglected. The walls clearly hadn't been painted in years, and everything felt run down. Most of all, it was filthy. The night we arrived, we vacuumed and mopped the entire place, and I won't even get into the color of the water. We had to sanitize the bathrooms too. The beds were very comfortable, and the sheets and towels seemed clean, but those things got lost in the general disrepair. It's a shame. The price was certainly not insignificant, and cleanliness is essential to feeling comfortable. Given how kind and helpful the owner was, we never expected to find a dirty apartment, especially with a newborn along. All in all, it was a decidedly negative experience.

We were there with our two boys, and all of us loved our stay at La Bernardon. The welcome was prompt and friendly, and the room was clean. I especially liked the shared kitchen, little touches like the courtyard and red refrigerator, and the peaceful night's sleep even though the neighborhood was lively and charming. The location's ideal for exploring Rome on foot, and it's a fantastic place for a moderate budget.

The room and bathroom were roomy and clean, and for what we paid, my wife and I were both very happy. We could use the shared kitchen and fridge, which served two other rooms as well. Stefano and Francesco were helpful when they welcomed us. I’d contact you first when I’m back in Rome.
