We came to Rome for our first anniversary and our first visit to the city, and this became one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The location was excellent, the place was clean, and breakfast was delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful with reservations and anything else we needed. They also pointed us to dinner spots that turned out to be top notch. Being able to speak with staff who knew English well made settling into Italy easier. I can’t say enough good things about them.

The hotel feels dated and badly in need of renovation, and I don’t think it deserves a 4-star rating. The location is decent, but the furniture, mattress, and bedding were extremely uncomfortable, and there were stains all over the furniture and tables. Dirty carpets and poor maintenance left the hallways smelling bad. Sound carries from the floors above, and the rooftop bar stayed open until 1 am. Guests and outsiders used it, then drunk people came down the stairs talking loudly. On two nights in a row, I heard people shouting and talking loudly in the alley as they left the bar. Breakfast had a poor selection and wasn’t great. The restaurant was decent, and the service there was good, but the food was overpriced for what they serve. Management also handled my message about a minibar charge for something I hadn’t consumed very unprofessionally. I’d avoid the hotel altogether. The photos online are photoshopped and don’t match what you see in person.

It’s a proper 3-4 star hotel, with spacious rooms that are clean and well appointed, though it isn’t luxurious. The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was delicious. Along with the usual continental options, there’s a made-to-order menu of hot items included. Great location. I recommend it.

We still find ourselves thinking about Hotel Chapter Roma six months later. We stayed during the busy summer season and came away with a really positive impression. The hotel occupies a centuries-old Roman building that’s been beautifully restored and updated with contemporary design. It felt comfortable and refined without being overdone. The room was quiet, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, a welcome place to unwind after long days exploring. Housekeeping was consistent, and the whole property felt well cared for. The neighborhood was another highlight. We could easily walk to Campo de’ Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto, and Trastevere, where we could have eaten every meal if we’d had the time. Being able to see so much of Rome on foot made the stay feel relaxed and immersive, while keeping us out of the most congested tourist areas. The staff made the stay even better. The front desk team was excellent, and Gianmarco was especially professional, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Concierge and guest relations were just as impressive, with thoughtful help, great recommendations, and a real interest in making our visit enjoyable. After hot days of sightseeing, we loved winding down at the rooftop bar, Hey Güey. It was relaxed and lively, and a lovely way to end an evening without leaving the hotel. Hotel Chapter Roma is well run and in a great neighborhood. We’d absolutely choose it again.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh food and plenty to choose from, including made-to-order eggs and bacon, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, pastries, and even a block of chocolate. The staff were genuinely kind and always ready to help. I found the room a good size, and the bed was firm and comfortable, though not the dreamiest. There wasn’t a coffee machine, which was a shame. There was also no closet, just a clothes rack and a few drawers. The one table was taken up by drinks for sale that I didn’t want, though I could probably have asked to have them moved. The bathroom was spacious, with a large shower and excellent water pressure, but no bathtub in my room. The location worked perfectly for walking around. Most places I needed were 5-20 minutes away on foot. I only took a bus to the Vatican museums because I had an 8 am booking, then walked back. It’s a great hotel, and you really can’t go wrong here.
