Hotel Nova Domus Aurelia

The staff were lovely, and we were happy with what we got for the price. Breakfast had a tasty omelet, vegetables, canned and fresh fruit, and several coffees. Everything was neat, and toiletries were provided. The mattress was a bit softer than I prefer, though I’d still give it 4.5 out of 5. We also heard some traffic outside after 8 a.m., but it didn’t spoil things for us. A couple of things in the room could use repair: the faucet and shower head were loose, and the hose leaked in places. We didn’t let that bring down our rating. The hotel was convenient for the attractions, and we felt lucky to have chosen it.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were wonderful. We were about a 15-minute walk from restaurants and 20 minutes from the Vatican. We stayed for a couple of nights and would definitely come back.

What a view of the area, and the Vatican is close by. I spent my first nights outside America here, in the July heat. The rooms are basic, with few amenities, and I had to get used to how the lights and bathroom worked in Europe. It was peaceful unless an ambulance went by, haha. The staff speak good English and were some of the nicest people I met. They recommended nearby restaurants and explained how to use the train for our cruise. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning. All in all, a good place to stay. Grazie.

The location was very good, but I’d suggest staying somewhere else. Our room was small, the shower had mold, and there weren’t many amenities or towels. The fridge was broken, and the staff could use some concierge training. The wooden floorboards were damaged, which may be why slippers were provided.
