I Love Italy Rome

The staff were kind and gave good service, and the location was decent, near metro stations and about a 20-minute walk from the Colosseum. But we didn’t sleep well. You could hear people upstairs walking, shifting things around, singing and playing piano, and the supposed double bed was two single beds pushed together. Awful.

This was a room in a renovated apartment, and it was nice, but it is not a hotel. Check the check-in hours carefully. I missed them and had to pay for a limo from the airport. The Wi-Fi was horrible. We had four keys just to get into the room. The apartment faces a street in downtown Rome, so if you arrive in the later spring months, ask whether you’ll have the AC remote. With the windows shut it can get stuffy, like it was when we arrived, but with them open there’s a lot of noise.

The location was good, with a metro station very close by, though shopping was a bit far. Breakfast was plentiful, with pastries, juice and coffee. The owner lent us umbrellas, and we could leave our luggage at reception for the rest of the day. The Wi-Fi was a nightmare for me as a student. The signal was poor and kept cutting out every 5-10 minutes, so I couldn’t load a single video. The owner wouldn’t let me use his personal Wi-Fi, saying it didn’t work. The walls are thin too, and we could hear the next room’s TV. The two singles used as a double bed kept sliding apart, leaving a gap that would form overnight.

The rooms were a good size and very clean. It’s in a good spot, an easy walk to the Colosseum and extremely close to Manzoni station.
