Loft Pantheon

We had the worst experience I've ever had with a property owner. We booked through Booking.com and had arranged a late evening arrival, with an extra charge for checking in late. I wasn't keen on that arrangement, since the host made it clear he wouldn't make an effort for guests, but we agreed to pay so we could get into the apartment. Our flight was delayed and taxis were hard to find, so we let him know we'd be later than planned. He didn't reply, and we started to worry. Once we reached the apartment, we called several times and got no answer. We had to find a hotel at the last minute. The next morning, we found that he'd canceled our reservation without contacting us or apologizing for leaving us stranded. Neither he nor Booking.com refunded us, despite our repeated calls and messages. Booking.com said it was only an intermediary and couldn't control refunds. I wouldn't trust this scammer or Booking.com if you want a pleasant stay in Rome.

We ended up waiting outside at 1:30 AM with no response from the host. After half an hour, we booked another hotel so we wouldn't have to spend the night outdoors. We'd agreed on a late arrival, and I kept the host updated, but he never replied to my calls or messages. Later that night, at 3:30 AM, he canceled the reservation and claimed we hadn't shown up. He also kept the €300 deposit. This is a scam. I wish zero stars were an option. Avoid this place completely.
