Lovely Nice 2 Beds Flat 4 Minutes From Vatican

Once we got into the room, it was modest but very clean and just right for a short holiday. Finding Lovely Rooms was frustrating, though: there’s no sign on the building, only a nameplate by a buzzer. Even our taxi driver struggled to find it. Simona, who looked after us, couldn’t have been more helpful. My wife and I would recommend Lovely rooms, which is close to the Vatican and lots of restaurants and shops. One thing to be aware of is the street noise. It’s loud for around 20 hours a day and quiet only from 2am to 6am. Even then, the occasional person or group talking or shouting can be heard clearly with the windows closed. Don’t let that put you off, though.

The room was nice, and there are only three rooms in the “flat,” with a shared kitchen that has enough equipment. Roma books and maps are available, and there’s some breakfast. The location is excellent, just steps from the metro, restaurants, a supermarket, and shops. We didn’t hear outside noise while sleeping. A few drawbacks: the indoor mobile AC makes noise at night, and there’s a patch of mold in one corner, fortunately quite far from the bed. The water pressure is low, and it takes a while to get warm. Breakfast is a voucher for Mozart Restaurant nearby: one croissant, one juice, and one coffee or cappuccino. Extras cost more, for example 4€ for a panini or 8€ for a full American breakfast. There’s no daily room cleaning, though I guess that’s usual for a B&B.

The host was great and really helpful, and the rooms were clean. The air conditioning worked well, though it was a little noisy. The place is right in the city center, with the Vatican about a 5-minute walk away. I'd definitely stay again.

Simona, the owner, was courteous and professional. The apartment is clean, warm, and has all the comforts you need. Even the rooms facing the main road were quiet. It's just steps from St. Peter's and the metro, in a very central spot. Highly recommended.
