We stayed at Navona for three days in September 2025, and it turned out to be a great choice. The room was clean, practical, and fully equipped with cooking gear. We cooked on two of our three nights, and having a washing machine and drying rack made laundry much easier while traveling in summer. Navona is extremely central, right by Castel Sant'Angelo, which took us less than five minutes to reach on foot. The old building is apparently 400 years old, and our room was on the third, top floor, so there were stairs. After walking Rome’s cobblestones, though, they felt easy enough. The owner Emanuel and site manager Jibz were friendly and professional, and gave us reassurance despite some booking troubles. Jibz was especially helpful with directions and check-in on arrival. I’d recommend it to anyone who puts convenience and practicality first.

The host brought us the keys and said we could contact him anytime for help, including recommendations. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, and we’d happily stay again. The hot water was the one annoying part. It would run out during a shower, leaving you wondering whether you’d get the soap off your head before it went cold. But honestly, it made for an exciting shower. Otherwise, it was an awesome place.

The apartment at s VICOLO DEL BOLOGNA 39 (TRASTEVERE), Apartment PENTHOUSE ON 2 levels, was dirty, with severe mould in the bathrooms and wires hanging out. It looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com, and the different furniture was dirty too. The kitchen was the only good part. We had to find somewhere else to stay. When we complained to Booking.com, the property told them the problems had been fixed and that we had stayed there, which wasn’t true. Very dishonest. I’ve attached a sample of the photos we took when we arrived. Stay well away.

It’s an apartment hotel, with kitchenettes and useful basics like soap provided, plus plenty of pillows. The space was comfortable and clean, close to the sights, and a good starting point for walking around. There are also some great places to eat nearby.

The location was excellent, and the staff were nice when we saw them, but they were only reachable through WhatsApp and took a long time to reply. The facilities didn’t match the description, which was really disappointing. The bed was much smaller than advertised, there was no high chair, and the toaster didn’t arrive until we’d been there a few days. Those were the reasons I chose the place. The kettle wasn’t electric, and the toilet seat was smaller than the bowl. Hot water ran out after about 10 minutes in the shower, then took at least 15 minutes to reheat. There was a strange cardboard door that made us wonder if someone could get into the room while we were out. The safe wouldn’t lock, and the toilet cistern had no top. The seat-and-bowl size mismatch was also a problem.
