Nerva Boutique Hotel

We’d loved starting each day with breakfast at Nerva and ending it with a cocktail, so after a few days in Naples we found ourselves back in the neighborhood while exploring Rome. We stopped in for a coffee, a bite to eat, and a chance to rest our feet. It was lovely to be greeted with such genuine warmth, almost like old friends. We’d stayed there for three nights earlier in the trip, and the staff made us feel like family. They made our time in Rome feel even more special. Wonderful location and people, and I can’t recommend Nerva highly enough.

We had breakfast à la carte rather than choosing the prepaid option, and there was a lovely selection. The location was excellent, right by the Forum, with the Colosseum about a ten-minute walk one way and the Trevi Fountain about the same the other way. We stayed in November and had a very pleasant time. Everyone from the moment we arrived was attentive and friendly, with an easygoing manner and a good sense of humor. Our smaller double room was in an annex, in a grand converted apartment two doors away. You enter through large wooden doors and go up a lovely staircase to a little lounge shared by three separately locked bedrooms. It was quiet at night despite being in central Rome. We were tired, so we went to the hotel’s cafe aurora, where our stay included a cocktail and a prosecco. The bar and kitchen staff were just as welcoming. I’d happily stay again when I’m back in Rome.

I came in to eat this time, rather than stay at the hotel, and the food was absolutely delicious. It’s a lovely place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal, with a really nice atmosphere. I also visited about two years ago, and the staff’s kindness and positive attitude were just as memorable then. It’s lovely to see that same warm hospitality still there. Places feel special because of moments like that. I’ll stay here next time I visit, for sure, and I’m looking forward to coming back.

Being right in the middle of the forums made it easy to walk to lots of sights. My family and I spent five days here, and we loved the room, the food, and the location. The staff were fantastic. I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone I know heading to Rome.
