The location is great, near San Giovanni metro station, but this isn’t really a hotel. It’s a ground-floor apartment with three rooms. We stayed two nights and the host messaged on arrival day to ask when we’d check in so they could meet us. We were charged 30 euros for city tax when we arrived. The room wasn’t bad, but the walls are thin and you can hear people talking in the building lobby. It was dirty: the towel rail in the bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned, and wiping it made the towels black. We had to wipe down the shelf and chairs too. Towels aren’t changed daily unless you pay for that. The shower was cold and weak. We put out the cleaning sign before leaving, but when we came back it had been flipped to occupied and the room hadn’t been cleaned. We both checked that we’d left it the right way around. We didn’t complain since we were leaving in the morning, and it’s not as though they’d do much anyway.

The location is the best part: the metro is only seconds away, with shops nearby and a nice area around the hotel. This review is for the midday room. It was really noisy. People upstairs walked around and moved chairs for much of the day, and the noise started at half past 5 in the morning. Not exactly restful. The room itself was alright, but the bathroom looks like it hasn’t had much renovation in years. We had to put a towel down to stop water running out of the bathroom. The front door was also very hard to open. We had to try the key several times to get it into the right position. The owner knew about the problem when we asked, but it didn’t look like anything would be done. He hadn’t warned us when we started our trip, and struggling to get into your place in a foreign country doesn’t feel comfortable.

Raoul, the owner, was really kind and helped us with everything. The room was modern, well equipped, and great. The location is excellent, close to the subway and an easy place to start sightseeing from. Absolutely recommend it!
