Opera Dreams

This was a really bad choice for a family, and I’m angry about how it was handled. I paid for three people, sent all the documents 10 days ahead, and everything seemed fine. Then, the night before my flight, they messaged to say three people couldn’t stay in the room. They could have told me before taking payment, and they didn’t give my money back. I wouldn’t recommend it. The area is awful too. We booked somewhere in the center for the last day and it was great in every way.

Alessandro, the owner, deserves credit. This was the best host experience I’ve had in Rome so far, and the room matched the Booking photos. The location worked really well, between three metro stations, beside the church where the last pope is buried, across from the opera, and next to the top restaurant mariacina, which is 150 years old. There was no late check-in fee or luggage storage charge, unlike many places in Rome, even though this is in the busy Termini area. Highly recommend.

I don’t understand why the reviews aren’t better, because we had a great time and I’d really recommend this place. The location is excellent, and our room was cosy and impeccably clean. It was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided. There were snacks in a separate room all day, and our room had a kettle, a selection of tea, and a coffee machine with pods. The WhatsApp entry instructions could have been clearer, though.

No one is answering me now. Check-in ran 40 minutes late, and nobody responded during that time. I’d chosen to pay cash at the property, but my card was charged twice. Instead of €400 for three nights, I ended up paying €800. The service was very poor.
