Residenza I Rioni Guesthouse

The rooms are really cozy, the place is incredibly clean, and there’s a beautiful view. It’s in one of the best neighbourhoods in rome, just 50 meters from metro and bus stations and around 10 minutes from the Vatican. I’ll remember it if I need a guesthouse in Rome again.

After sightseeing, it was nice to have a quiet place away from the tourist crowds. The guesthouse is in the residential Prati neighborhood, a short walk from a metro stop and a pleasant walk to Vatican City. Our stay was comfortable and affordable. The room was clean but sparse, and the manager was attentive and hospitable.

The room was spacious, had a high ceiling, and felt fresh and clean. The price was very cheap out of season. The location is brilliant, right across from Lepanto metro station, with easy connections around Rome and the Vatican city centre about fifteen minutes away. I took off stars because the bottled water tasted like plastic and there didn’t seem to be a breakfast option. More bed and bedfast than bed and breakfast.

The residence is very close to the metro and Vatican City, which was a plus. The rest left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was tiny, just small croissants and dry bread, and on our last day there was none at all. They explained this was because of coronavirus, but we’d paid the normal price and expected more. The road traffic was loud at night, so we had to choose between the AC noise and traffic coming through open windows. The trees along the road also brought a lot of mosquitoes. On top of that, the bathroom smelled so bad it spread through the room.
