Giovanni was super friendly and helpful, sharing lots of useful tips and recommendations. The room was clean and updated, while the building itself was historic, a nice mix. Breakfast was a delicious croissant and cappuccino at a nearby cafe, but don’t expect a full meal. The WiFi in the room was excellent. Highly recommended.

This was a good budget guest house close to lots of Rome’s highlights. The host was friendly and had plenty of dinner recommendations. Getting in touch with the host could have been more organized.

Horrible experience. I emailed weeks before our stay to clarify a FedEx delivery, and I’m glad I did, because the important document was still turned away by the doorman. When we asked Gian Loco what happened, he blamed us for not reminding him two more times after the email. We felt we had to stay another night just to get the document. His attitude was awful throughout. On our last day, one of our party was sick and needed to go to the hospital, but he was rude, knocking and demanding payment before the 10 o’clock checkout. When we reminded him he had the credit card numbers, he threw a fit and called the carabinari across the street. They came and bullied us, made derogatory remarks about our sexual orientation, disabilities, and recent illnesses, and we were forced to hand over private medical documents while being accused of not paying. We’re now working with an Italian attorney to denounce him and the officers. Some of our personal items went missing from their baggage watch, as did unopened food from our room. The room wasn’t cleaned, and we didn’t get clean towels or more tiny bars of soap until the second day. There was never anyone at the desk, no security cameras, and I saw rat droppings in the halls and bathroom. The place is in the dirtiest part of Rome and smells of human feces. I stayed here years ago and it was 100x better, with nice customer service and no sense that you were bothering them or hearing about their workload. I’d give zero stars if I could. NEVER STAY HERE.

My wife and I spent five days here at the start of February. The double room was very big and had a very nice en suite. The location was great too, with famous sights all within a reasonable walk.
