Rome Luxury House

The apartment was roomy and in an ideal spot, but the furniture felt low quality and the cleanliness was poor. Street-facing rooms were really noisy.

The central Rome location worked well, and the apartment had what a small family needs for a night: we could cook, do laundry, shower, and sleep. Still, finding things was a bit of a hunt, and the layout felt maze-like. The bed is up in an attic space inside the living room, which was awkward to climb to in the dark or at night. The bigger frustration was the caretaker not sticking to arrangements. She first sent us to the wrong parking garage and wasn't at the apartment at the nearly agreed arrival time. We were left waiting on a busy street while illegally parked for the key handover. During our four-night stay we also ran out of towels; she said she'd bring some at a certain time, but missed it by a long way. We were in Rome to see things and didn't want extra stress over a towel delivery that had been agreed.

We had a large apartment, but the single key card was inconvenient for several adults since the electricity only works with it. The location was perfect, communication and booking were excellent, and breakfast at the bistro downstairs was delicious. The apartment itself needed attention. The kitchen was very old and dirty, and the capsule coffee machine seemed close to breaking. The bathroom hairdryer was burnt out, and cable ties were holding the shower cubicle together. Most of the furniture was from Ikea, so nothing felt luxurious.

There wasn't much room to put our things, so we ended up leaving them on the floor. The kitchen was tiny but had everything. We booked for eight people; one bed was a little short of a double and was in a room you had to walk through. The place was okay overall, right in the center of tourist Rome.
