Hotel Villa Duse

Eleonora and her mother were so kind, helpful, and accommodating, and Eleonora went out of her way to make our stay feel perfect, with suggestions for places to eat and shop around Rome. My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon here after my family, who'd stayed at Villa Duse several times and raved about it, recommended the hotel. It lived up to their praise. The Library Suite was clean and comfortable, with a big shower, and we slept well every night. The breakfast was FABULOUS, with pastries, fruit, and delicious cappuccinos. The hotel feels authentically Italian and sits in the sweet, quiet Parioli neighborhood, away from the busy, overwhelming center of Rome. We were sad to leave and will always remember our time at Villa Duse and in the neighborhood.

The area is a lovely break from the crowds in Rome's touristy spots. There are two beautiful parks nearby and some really good restaurants, so you don't need to go into central Rome every day. This is a really lovely family hotel, with nice, helpful staff. The room was lovely too, and when we had breakfast, it was delicious, especially Maria Rosaria's homemade cakes! The location is great. I'd highly recommend staying here.

There's lots of outdoor seating on the patio, with an honesty bar, and the nearby restaurants are good. The piazza muse nearby is a lovely little park with a nice view. The neighborhood is quiet, though at least a 30-minute walk from the city center. Take taxis or buses to major attractions, and don't bother with the commuter rail. We stayed in the Library Suite, a quaint, spacious room with two big windows and a couch. The bed was comfortable, and the A/C worked, though it was a bit weak. Sometimes the bathroom vents smelled like smoke. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good.

The staff made sure our time at the hotel and in Rome was always enjoyable, and breakfast was excellent. The homemade chocolate cake was delicious.
