Hotel Certosa Di Maggiano

We were lucky to get an upgrade to a suite, which made our March stay at La Certosa di Maggiano feel even more special. The room was beautiful, quiet, and clean, and the whole place has a distinctive atmosphere. Very early in the morning, the cloister is magical. Service was attentive throughout without ever feeling overdone, and breakfast with local products was excellent. We had dinner there one night too. Make a reservation ahead, since they have only a few seats. It's an easy walk to central Siena. A really memorable stay.

The food was delicious, and both breakfast and dinner were a delight. My room was stunning, and it was hard to leave. The property is absolutely beautiful, with true luxury and high standards of service. You can see how much pride the staff take in looking after guests. They made our wedding anniversary so special, and it was worth every penny. Parking was easy, though the narrow roads made the drive there a little scary. Aside from that, fantastic. I wish I could give them 10 stars, it was a 10 out of 10.

The bus into Siena stops right outside, which is handy. Our spacious, comfortable room was lovely, although the bathroom in our executive suite could use a refresh. Gardens are beautifully arranged, and the pool area is great. Breakfast had plenty of choice, while the lunch and snack options and dinner menu were strong. The cocktail bar was very good too. Service was warm and attentive overall, but dinner felt stretched: there were long waits to order, and nobody offered dessert even though each of us had a starter and a main. A delightful stay, with only a few service tweaks needed.

From the moment we arrived until we left, the service impressed us. They met every request graciously, and we felt treated like family while still being looked after professionally. Ricardo, our favorite bar server, made sure we were taken care of and even shared his homemade limoncello. The restaurant overlooking an inside courtyard was wonderful, and the food was excellent. The property and our well-appointed room were absolutely lovely. We had the great fortune to stay at Cerosa di Maggiano in late September 2025. We'd happily stay again and recommend it to anyone. If we could give it 10 stars, we would.
