In the morning, have a cup of coffee while looking at the city from the window. You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hotel — Unviersity of Perugia, Teatro Comunale Morlacchi and Perugia City Hall.

If you travel by car, you can park in a parking zone for free. You won’t be bored as at the hotel you will find a barbeque area. Tourists who can’t live without swimming will appreciate a pool. You won’t have to leave your pet at home as they are allowed.

We loved Sinalunga and the setting, and the pool water and towels were clean. The place might have been pleasant without the owner, who made the stay uncomfortable. He kept appearing with odd instructions while we were eating, swimming, cooking, or even getting dressed inside the house. There were also double cameras everywhere, which felt very suspicious. He came across as stingy, grumpy, surly, unhappy, neurotic, obnoxious, and rude. We understand he’s very old and tired of the job, something he said plainly a few times, but we work hard to afford one expensive week by the pool. We didn't pay to deal with his frustration, obsession with monitoring, suspicions, or prejudices. At the entrance, the fridge was dirty and had hair in it. There was no hand soap, shampoo, shower gel, dishwasher tablets, or washing machine tablets. The coffee maker didn't work, and there was very little toilet paper, so we had to buy everything. The owner would spend hours standing or sitting by our porch, flooding the grass with water that smelled awful. It turned unbearably smelly and muddy for days, then the mosquitoes got so bad we couldn't sit outside. We've been to Italy six times and visited 48 cities, and have never had such a weird host. We love Mediterraneo, though.

Roberto Bardini made our stay at Fonte del Castagno feel special from the start. He showed us around the beautiful gated gardens and pool, then remembered it was my friend's birthday and surprised us by upgrading our room to a spacious, fabulous loft apartment. The next morning he brought coffee and a birthday tort (cake) for breakfast. He was the most gracious host we met on our whole trip. It was my first visit to SInalunga, and we wanted somewhere central, reasonably priced, and picturesque. We weren't sure we'd find all three, but Fonte del Castagno was stunning. For a holiday in SInalunga, look no further. Grazie mille!

There were beetles everywhere, and the place was so filthy that we couldn't use the bathrooms. The landlord said that's what you should expect in the countryside. Stay away!

A great place to stay and a handy base for traveling around. I just wish there were a bit more to do in town.

We lasted a week before finding somewhere else outside Sinalunga. The complex is run-down, the accommodation's hygiene is appalling, and the noise is unbearable. The landlord is grumpy, won't listen to criticism, and keeps lurking around so you feel watched. I can't understand the friendly reviews. Sinalunga's old town is completely dead, and even one star feels too generous.
