The rooms are cosy and have great views, and there’s free parking right at the hotel. We had half board, with delicious dinners, good choices, and generous portions. Drinks cost extra, but I recommend the house wine. Breakfast leans more German than Italian, and it could use some vegan options. There’s also a sauna and a pool that extends outdoors, great for some nice pictures 😁

It met what I expect from a three-star hotel, so I’m giving it five stars, though there wasn’t anything beyond that. The food was fine, nothing special, but not disappointing either. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily, the staff were friendly and family-oriented, and there’s a private covered garage with no extra fees. There’s also a place to spend the evening playing board games. The pool was fine, but the spa area could use a little renewal. I’d love to see one larger jacuzzi instead of several spots that fit two people at most.

We’ve stayed at hotel Waldrast twice now and I think we’ll be back. The family who run it are kind, the service is great, the food is good, and the wellness area is lovely. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with beautiful views. We come to this area to snowboard at Kronplatz, about a 20 minute drive from the hotel to the slopes. Having a garage is a real help too, since the car stays warm and we don’t have to scrape off ice in the morning. The town is very cute, and it’s a great stay for the price.

The pool closes at 7 pm in summer, which I didn’t like. Otherwise, the hotel was nice, the food was tasty, and the views and surroundings were amazing.
