Hotel A LA Commedia

The room was beautiful and expansive, and a bellhop helped bring our bags up before showing us in. The front desk staff knew the city well and explained the water taxi routes so we could get around easily. Everything seemed to be an easy 5-10 minute walk from the hotel, which was in a perfect spot. It was a perfect final stop on my husband's and my honeymoon. The rooftop bar was closed, unfortunately, so we'll have to return in warmer months to enjoy it. I'd highly recommend this place.

We liked the hotel so much that we extended our visit. The location was great, about 4 minutes from Rialto bridge and 6 minutes from St. Mark’s square. Our room felt almost like a little castle, with lovely décor, elegant wallpaper, a canopy bed, and a balcony. It was a good size, and the bathroom was unusually spacious for Venice, almost half the size of the room. It had a comfortable bathtub, all the amenities we needed, and thoughtful details like a small table for toiletries and a chair. Even the shower curtains looked like castle windows, a charming touch. Every member of the team was kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. It felt like they cared about giving guests a good experience. We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Commedia, with beautiful rooms and thoughtful design. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice.

The triple room we shared was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom and bath accessories were lovely. The hotel is in a great spot near Rialto bridge and a water taxi stop. Staff were pleasant enough, though a couple seemed a bit rude. Maybe that was just a language difference, I'm not sure. We arrived late, and it was our first time in Venice. We were stranded at the airport, and I'd asked the hotel for help booking a water taxi. They said water taxis were always available, but that wasn't the case, so next time I'd book ahead. They also hadn't left drinking water in the room for our 2am arrival, even though free bottled water is put in the room every evening. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5.

For Venice, the price felt fair. We could walk anywhere on the island, and Rialto was only about 50 metres away without the noise bothering us. There’s also a Coop supermarket nearby, handy for a few meals since eating out in Venice gets expensive. The room and service were both top-notch.
