Abbazia De Luxe

The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the staff were warmhearted and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and had no bad smell. My family liked the good quality complimentary slippers and toothbrushes. For this price, it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Italy. The location is perfect, next to the rail station, bus shuttle, water bus, and water taxi. I’ll come back on a future Venice visit.

We paid extra for a canal-facing room and it was well worth it. Ours was spacious, quiet, clean, and comfortable, with no street noise and air conditioning that worked great. The converted monastery is really beautiful, and breakfast was great too. I was nervous after reading bad reviews, so maybe some of the smaller rooms aren’t as good. We’d definitely stay again.

I was made to feel unwelcome from the moment I arrived. Staff were cold and dismissive, ignored my requests, and spoke to me condescendingly. I felt singled out and treated differently from other guests, who got smiles and courtesy. It seemed painfully obvious that I was being judged for who I am, and I was deeply uncomfortable. This felt discriminatory and unprofessional, not just like poor service. Shame on them for allowing such racist behavior. If dignity and respect matter to you, do not stay here. There are better hotels where guests are treated equally and with care. I’ll never return and urge others to look elsewhere.

We had breakfast and enjoyed it, and the room was nice. We paid for a canal view and got one, though in hindsight we might have slept better away from the canal, since it was noisy at times. That was our choice of location, so we wouldn’t hold it against the hotel. The bathroom looked fantastic, but the water pressure disappointed us: of the two shower heads, only one worked properly. It’s an easy one-minute walk from the train station. The staff were very friendly, especially the young gentleman at reception in the de luxe section, who was helpful and pleasant to interact with. We’d stay again.
