Albergo San Marco

The desk staff were amazing when we got lost trying to find the hotel. Google Maps kept telling us to walk through walls, so I finally called. The staff member stayed on the phone and guided us past shops and cafes until we were close, then came out to help us carry our luggage over the canal bridge. I appreciated it so much!

Breakfast was great, and both the room and hotel were spotless. The staff were polite and really helpful, especially when they found us a suitable room for my knee problem. Being tucked just behind san Marco made getting around very convenient. We recommend it!!!

From the Water Taxi dock, it was about an 8 min walk through the square. The hotel is just across a small canal bridge, with 10 steps up and then down along the way. We managed our luggage ourselves, though there are people offering to carry it, with prices that vary. Private Water Taxis from the train station cost about 120 Euros.

The staff were very friendly, and the taxi boat arrangements worked well. Breakfast was modest. Still, we were relieved to leave after just one night. We only got 3-6 hours of sleep because noise carried along the narrow streets. The room looked onto the façade of the next building, and there was a strong sewage smell in the hotel. The newly renovated rooms also had a powerful air freshener that stung my nose. The location is central, but impossible to find without Google Maps.
