Hotel Atlantide

I had a lovely room overlooking a small garden. The hotel had everything I needed and was in a great spot, with the Canale Grande just a few meters away. Cafès, supermarkets, and restaurants were all close by, and the train station “Venezia Santa Lucia” was nearby too. I spent three nights at the Atlantide Hotel and was quite happy there. It's ideal for a short stay, and I'd book it again if I returned to Venice.

The main drawback was the lack of a mosquito net. If you open the window, mosquitoes fly straight in. Otherwise, the staff were friendly, the rooms clean, and the water warm. The AC and TV worked, too. I booked a double room, then asked for two separate beds and got them. It's near the train station and close to famous spots, so I'm not sure why some people complain.

We arrived late in the evening, and the receptionist made us feel welcome. She explained how the rooms were laid out, covered the details we needed to make an informed booking, and shared lots of useful information. The staff were the best part of the hotel for us, very helpful and friendly. One thing to know is that check-in may be at 'Hotel Antica Casa Carettoni', just around the corner from the actual rooms.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, answering our questions, giving advice, and even booking a taxi for our early flight. The location was great, close to the canal, with plenty of restaurants and a small supermarket nearby. For a two-star hotel, we were very happy with our stay. Our small room had everything we needed for a few nights, and since we were out during the day, the size didn't bother us. It was clean, with comfortable beds, a safe, desk, wardrobe, chair, and bedside tables. We really appreciated the air conditioning. The ensuite bathroom was tiny but had what we needed, and the shower pressure was great, with both a rainfall head and a handheld one. There was no lift and only one mirror, in the bathroom, but neither was a problem for us.
