The area is gorgeous, with restaurants within walking distance, and the larger room we were moved to for the last two nights was perfect. But the first room was nowhere near what we’d booked. We paid for a King Executive Room with View advertised as 291 sq ft, yet it felt smaller than a matchbox and my son had to sleep on a cot. The room also didn’t feel like five-star quality. At the desk, staff tiptoed around the issue, gave double messages, and defended the room. A manager eventually offered 20% off the first night and a larger room for the next two nights because the first room wasn’t what had been advertised or paid for. At checkout they’d forgotten the discount and tried to humiliate me over the cost at the front desk. The surroundings are lovely, but the rooms were disappointing, and I kept hearing other people complain about the same problem.

The concierge gave us helpful advice each day about reaching the places we wanted to see, and the hotel made a great base for exploring. A Hilton water taxi goes to a few main spots, from which you can walk or take public or private taxis. The private ones are the more expensive option. We arrived from the airport on the public water taxi and check-in went smoothly. Our room wasn’t ready, so the desk suggested relaxing in the executive lounge, which was welcome after the flight and trip to the hotel. The room was clean and well kept throughout our three-night stay. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of tasty choices for different tastes, plus eggs cooked fresh if you ask, including omelets. Check out the Sky lounge for sunset views too.

The rooftop views were a real highlight, with Venice’s skyline, canals, and sunsets creating a magical scene. Dining up there added to the feeling of luxury and made the hotel seem like a destination in itself. Hilton Molino Stucky Venice is in a stunning, beautifully restored historic building. Its design blends Venetian character with modern luxury, giving the place an elegant feel from arrival. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and lovely, and the staff were welcoming, attentive, and professional throughout. One of the highlights of my Venice trip, truly unforgettable. Mamma mia, what a spectacular experience!

The gym’s outside entrance was a small inconvenience, since you might have to walk outdoors and get your shoes dirty before working out. The spa area was excellent, though, and added a lot to the stay. On Giudecca, Hilton Molino Stucky is a very good choice for Venice. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and service across the property was efficient and attentive. Breakfast offered a broad, high quality selection. The meeting rooms were spacious, well equipped, and suitable for professional events.

The hotel is strikingly large, and some areas almost feel like a museum. It’s housed in a building with a rich history on the island. There’s a scheduled boat shuttle in both directions to San Marco, which is convenient and costs 15 euros per person for the entire stay. Our room was bright, cozy, and comfortable, with a beautiful view. Breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from, including fresh fruit and freshly baked pastries.
