That private dock made arriving and leaving by water taxi or private boat easy, and the hotel still felt peaceful despite being right on the Grand Canal. We could admire the Rialto Bridge from the room or terrace without the tourist crowds passing through the hotel. Most major sights were an easy, scenic walk away. We stayed in the spacious first-floor suite, with its own patio opening onto the canal. The traditional Venetian decor felt elegant but fresh, and waking up to the view was pretty magical. The small hotel also had the personal feel we wanted, with thoughtful amenities. Breakfast was made to order each morning and much better than ordinary continental fare. The guest-only bar was open around the clock, and having a spritz on the balcony while gondolas passed the Rialto was hard to beat. What really made the stay was Matteo, Gigi, Alex, Peeples, and the rest of the team. They learned our names right away, seemed to anticipate what we needed, and treated us like family. Their warmth made an already lovely stay unforgettable. We spent days comparing hotels before booking Al Ponte Antico, and it ended up exceeding even our high expectations. I rarely leave Google reviews, but this place deserves all the praise it gets. I can't think of a criticism. Matteo and the staff are wonderful people who clearly love what they do. We'll be back in Venice, and I'll book here every time.

The view of the Rialto bridge is hard to put into words, and the coffee and breakfast each morning were so good. Since the hotel is small, it feels especially warm and welcoming. Matteo and the whole staff greeted us so kindly and already knew our names, even though it was our first visit. Their service moved me in a way no other hotel had before. It even made me think about how I want to treat other people. Picking this hotel was our best decision in Venice. The memories will stay with us for a long time, and if I come back, I'd choose it again without hesitation.

We found our home in Venice. With only 9 rooms, Hotel Al Ponte Antico feels intimate, and the staff treated us with so much care that we felt like royalty coming home rather than tourists. They knew our names as soon as we arrived and seemed to anticipate what we'd need. The building is a restored 14th-century palace, with beautiful rooms and a striking sense of history. The service was the real highlight, genuinely exceptional. I couldn't have scripted a better Venice trip, and the hotel was at its center. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could. If you find a room available, book it. We won't stay anywhere else in Venice.

The staff made the biggest impression on me. Everyone knew both our names and took a real interest in helping us have the best visit possible. The homemade breakfast was delicious, and the decor had an unmistakably Venetian feel. I'd dreamed for decades of staying somewhere in Venice with a Grand Canal view. At Al Ponte Antico, our room looked right out over the water, the Rialto Bridge, and all the boats going by. It was worth the wait. They turned that long-held dream into a wonderful stay, and we'll come back to Venice just to stay here again.

The terrace overlooking the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge was hard to leave. After a few hours out touring, we'd come back for a break and have one of their fantastic Spritzes. The location makes it easy to walk almost everywhere, and other transport is close by too. We stayed three nights at Al Ponte Antico, and everything felt just right. The concierge arranged transport from the cruise port at Fusina straight to the hotel's water landing. The owner helped with our bags from the boat, and he and the concierge introduced themselves right away. From then on, everyone greeted us by name and made us feel like friends staying in a great home near the Rialto. Breakfast was amazing, and the daily dinner recommendations were all fantastic. I can't imagine visiting Venice and staying anywhere else. The people and facilities were hard to beat.
