Visible mold covered the shower and even the hairdryer cord, which felt like a serious health risk. The room doors had basic key locks, and the same key was used for the shared bathroom down the hall. I strongly advise avoiding this property. The poor hygiene, lack of basic services, security concerns, noise, and the host's unfriendly, unprofessional manner made this one of the worst stays I've had. I was there for three nights with my children, and the whole experience was stressful. We waited outside for over two hours with them; check-in was listed from 2 p.m., but Cristina arrived around 4. She was unfriendly from the start. She even tried to make us leave a day early despite my fully paid Booking.com reservation. I showed proof, and she let us stay the extra night, but didn't apologize. The room was hot and noisy at night, and the 100% polyester bedding was uncomfortable. Towels and sheets weren't changed during our stay. There was no bath mat or shower towel, so water got on the floor; Cristina responded rudely with “acqua-acqua” instead of providing a towel. We also had a power cut, with no electricity or hot water, and got no proper response or apology. I left towels on the balcony to dry, but a few hours later they'd been taken by the host and not replaced. I had no towel to dry my child. We got just one small bar of soap at check-in, and when it ran out I had to ask for more. After cleaning, the host left a neighboring room open. As I passed it on my way to our room, she falsely accused me of going inside, which was distressing. She speaks only Italian, making communication difficult for international guests.

The facilities are extremely old, and the room wasn't clean enough. The mattresses were very old too. While using the hairdryer, it threw flames and a piece came out.

It was so noisy that sleeping was difficult. The walls are paper-thin, so voices from people nearby or in the next rooms carried loudly, on top of the loud street noise. I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday when you want to rest.

We only stayed one night, and everything was fine. The room's pretty, with a rich old-fashioned style that we really liked. Our 8-year-old daughter especially enjoyed the decor and the feeling of being in another time.

The room setup caused the biggest problems. The front family suite is so exposed to the main road and bus route that sleep is difficult, and the sockets aren't all in good condition, which would worry me with a small child. There's also almost no sound barrier between the front and back suites, just a flimsy door off the shared hallway, so you hear people coming and going. Oddly, the switch for the front hallway lamp is in the back hallway, meaning other guests can turn your light on without realizing it. The building itself has plenty of charm, but it really needs good quality double glazing installed properly. Nearby beaches are private, and in the afternoon hotel security guards move people along so the wealthy older visitors and their lap dogs can keep an unobstructed sea view. Lido is still worth visiting. The Vaporetto fare for visitors is an outrageous seven times the local price. Maybe Venetians visiting Vienna should pay 16,80 for one public transport ticket too. I did have the best pizza of my life at Stella Pizzeria at the top of the main street on Lido, and the waiter and owner there were the kindest I've ever met.
