The bed was comfortable, and the location is great, less than a 10-minute walk from piazza San Marco. That's where the positives end. I had a Double Deluxe room with breakfast included for 135 a night, and it was one of the most restless hotel stays I've had. The walls seemed paper-thin. We could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms, water running, furniture being moved, showers, caps dropping, conversations, all of it. The windows weren't soundproof either. One rainy morning we stayed in, and it was impossible to rest. There was also plenty of dust under the bed. The breakfast cost 20 euros and was basic, with little choice. The scrambled eggs were swimming in grease, and the bread was hard and inedible. Save the money and find a pastry shop or bakery instead. The hairdryer was useless too, the kind that feels decades old, when a basic modern one costs around 20 euros. Not great for the price.

On our last visit, the staff moved us to a larger room the next morning after noticing the one we'd been given was tight for getting ready for a wedding. That small act made a real difference and showed how attentive they are. The front desk and concierge are friendly, professional, and thoughtful, and it's always easy to communicate with everyone. This was our third stay at Liassidi Palace, and every visit has been consistently wonderful. The hotel has elegant Venetian details and a lovely second-floor salon for relaxing. It's an easy walk to the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark’s Square, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful. The rooms are comfortable and well kept, and the whole stay feels personal without being too formal. Liassidi Palace has become our home base in Venice, and we'd gladly recommend it to anyone looking for character and warm hospitality.

We were very happy with our three-night stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very nice with good service. They also have a large air-conditioned room where you can wait after checkout, and they'll look after your bags if you want to go out. They let us check in early, which was wonderful. Our room was a good size and clean, as was the bathroom. The shower pressure was strong, though the door wasn't the best. Fresh towels came each day. The bathroom had some nice extras, including cotton buds, a nail file, and cotton pads along with the usual shampoo and shower gel. There was tea and coffee, but no little pots of long-life milk. The room had a fridge and air conditioning. The bed was a little hard, but fine. Overall, we were very pleased.

The hotel is an easy walk from lots of attractions, and they arranged a water taxi for us the day before we needed it. I believe they can also arrange shuttles to Murano, though you'll need to buy a ticket on the island to see glass blowing. Our room was huge and luxurious, with a dry sauna. Breakfast was decent, but the food temperature and ingredient freshness were pretty average. That didn't take away from the spacious common areas, which made the place feel even roomier. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice.

We had a difficult stay at Liassidi Palace. The sink drained slowly, though we didn't mind much while we were busy exploring. We booked an Executive Suite through TUI for four people, then found that one sleeping space was a sofa bed, which hadn't been clearly explained. The hotel's website shows two proper beds in the Exclusive Suite with canal view, unlike what we were given. Sam at reception was helpful, but others were less accommodating. Barbara, the breakfast attendant, seemed rude to us. Since we're dual Pakistani and British nationals, we first wondered if it was a cultural difference. Her tone changed for the better after she found out we were British, which made us uncomfortable. At check-in we were given a standard paper saying, “Local city tax NOT included: EUROS 4.50 PPPN.” After two nights Sam told us the “access fee” no longer applied because it had ended in July. We checked online and were reassured. At checkout, Daniele said city tax was due. I explained what Sam had told us, but she insisted it was payable and said her colleague was mistaken. I agreed to pay after picking up our luggage. When I came back, the invoice also had an unexpected €20 water charge. We'd only taken non-alcoholic items from the minibar and returned the alcohol, and nobody had told us water cost extra. Daniele became defensive and rude when we questioned it, saying, “It’s just 20 euros.” She talked over us and cited her 23 years of experience. We said the issue was fair treatment, not the amount. Eventually she tore up the invoice, removed the water charge, and accepted only the city tax. But she kept speaking rudely in her language, which felt insulting. Because our return flight was late, we'd asked for late checkout. The usual time was 11 AM, and they let us stay until noon. We offered to pay for a later checkout but were told it wasn't possible. Outside, Daniele followed us and sarcastically said we should mention in our review that she “gave us water for free and allowed late check-out for free.” We had offered to pay and hadn't been told there was a charge. She frightened our child and spoiled our last moments in Venice. She said she was only a receptionist, not a manager, and gave us her full name. It was upsetting to have someone in that role behave so unprofessionally and unkindly, and it spoiled what should have been a special holiday.
