May 11, 2025. In Castello, near Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Campiello Querini is a lovely quiet discovery, one of those corners that makes Venice memorable. The photos show the details beautifully: a narrow calle in bright sun, terracotta and ochre houses, green shutters, flower boxes, stone paving, ivy on the walls, arched sotoportego passages and a canal bridge. The blue sky and golden light give it a peaceful, timeless feel. In one photo, my wife is smiling in the alley; in another, our group is by the stairs with pastel buildings rising around us. Away from the main crowds, these tucked-away spots are perfect for photos, wandering slowly and feeling the real soul of Venice.

Cafés make this square feel welcoming, and historic buildings give it an elegant setting. It has a relaxed atmosphere.

Away from the busiest routes, this is a good place to pause for a breath and a glass of prosecco. Venice has few large squares, and this one feels quieter than most.

People of all ages were having fun, and the atmosphere was great. Such a lovely place to eat, with lots of outdoor bars and restaurants.
