Residenza Bistrot De Venise

The service was excellent, fine dining, and the location right in the heart of Venice gets 5/5. The food was a different story for me, 2/5. I didn't really understand the flavors. The onion starter was too sweet, and seafood that sweet just doesn't work for me. The prawn rice was nothing special, and the dessert looked better in the picture than it tasted. At 3/5, the price felt high for the food quality.

The lunch at Bistrot de Venise felt like a whole Venetian experience. We had a canal view from our window seat, with gondolas passing by, while the soft music and romantic, colorful décor made the room feel warm and relaxing. The lamb ragout pasta was outstanding, with tender, flavorful meat and handmade pasta that had a delicate bite. We also loved the slow-braised beef cheek in the restaurant's special sauce, meltingly soft and rich but balanced, with flavors that stayed pleasantly with us. The staff were courteous, attentive, and professional from the moment we arrived, warm without hovering. They explained each dish in an engaging, detailed way. Thanks especially to David and Alvise for their thoughtful care and genuine hospitality. The food may have been the best we've had on our travels around Europe. Refined, soulful, and unforgettable. Highly recommended when visiting Venice.

All first-rate, as ever. This time we had Gamberoni in “Saor” all’antica, prawns in sweet and sour “Saor”, plus Caprese Gourmet, buffalo mozzarella mousse glazed with San Marzano tomato. Then came Petto de Anara in salsa “Pevarada”, duck breast in Pevarada sauce. The excellent sommelier suggested three different wines, all delicious and very reasonably priced.

The staff were so kind, and the food and service were a lovely surprise. My partner had the vegan four-course tasting menu while I chose the four-course omnivore one, and we both found the food delicious. The red walls gave the place a very Venetian feel, at least as I picture it. There were mostly tourists dining there, but it didn't feel like a tourist trap at all. Great quality, right in the heart of Venice.
