We booked well ahead and were looking forward to a much-needed holiday. Then our flight was canceled because of the unexpected outbreak of war in Israel, leaving us unable to travel in a dangerous and unpredictable situation. The hotel wouldn't refund us, offer partial credit, or let us reschedule. We didn't choose to cancel our trip. It was deeply upsetting to meet so little understanding during a crisis. I expected more empathy and flexibility from a hotel of this caliber, especially during a war. The experience left a bitter taste, and I wouldn't recommend booking here if fair treatment and basic compassion matter to you.

The room was clean and a nice size, and the location was good. The bathroom was long and narrow, though, so moving around in it was awkward. The heating somehow made the room colder. The hair dryer was a joke, like something from the 80s, and didn't work. With a huge gap under the door, the room got unbearably loud from 8am as cleaning staff and guests talked. They won't store your luggage after checkout, so off-site storage costs €19. I wouldn't stay again.

The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, and the shower is a decent size. The room itself is kind of small, but clean, warm in the cold weather, and comfortable. The bed takes up most of the space, so it takes some getting used to. One downside is the shower's hot water is only warm, not hot. I also would have liked a complimentary bottle of water on arrival, as is customary in most hotels around Europe, but a very cold bottle from the fridge costs €2.

Good points: it's central, kind of affordable, has a kind service man, and an interesting classical style. The gap under our door let loud voices and noise wake us repeatedly until early morning. After a long day of travel, we couldn't rest well and were still really tired. You can also hear every little sound from the bathroom with the door closed. The hairdryer was very weak. It took more than half an hour and my hair was still a little wet, so bring your own if your hair is longer.
