Comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. The apartment is run by friendly professionals, and its central location puts the vaporetto stop nearby and Rialto Bridge about a five-minute walk away. I’d happily recommend it.

I ended up canceling after the owner asked me to pay more than the amount shown when I booked on Booking.com. She said the prices hadn’t been updated and that there was still plenty of time before my dates, then asked for an extra payment on top of the tourist tax I already knew about. I explained that I’d booked through Booking.com because I trusted its prices and conditions to be clear. Her response was that I could cancel if I didn’t agree. I don’t think that’s right: tourist accommodation should keep its listed prices current, and once a booking is made, the agreed price and conditions should be honored. The extra amount wasn’t very large, but it wasn’t a large sum for her either. A day after I canceled, I checked those dates on Booking.com and saw the price still hadn’t changed. It makes me think the next person booking may also be asked for an extra charge beyond what Booking.com shows.
