We really enjoyed this fair-priced stay. The hotel is old, with dated rooms and just two elevators, but the waits were under a minute even on fireworks night. The Japanese-style room was very clean and we slept well. The shower felt old-fashioned, but with the public hot spring available, it wasn’t an issue for me. The spring was also old, but clean, tidy and warm. Bring your own towel, since they don’t provide one there. The fireworks were a highlight. From our room balcony, we could sit warm and relaxed in the cold winter and watch them. The buffet dinner and breakfast were satisfying, with plenty to choose from and several good options. The food and hot spring were both medium, but the price reflects that. Add the location, pickup service and buffet meals, and it’s a wonderful deal. You may find a better quote on a Japanese booking site if you know some Japanese. The pickup to and from the hotel was convenient, on time and saved money. Read the website instructions for getting there, and book the return ride at the front desk. The front desk staff were helpful and tried hard to communicate even though I barely speak Japanese. Maybe some other ratings expected five-star quality, but we were happy with what we paid.

I was unsure after reading the many bad reviews, but this hotel ended up being a highlight of my trip. The two huge baths stay open until midnight, and I especially liked the outdoor hot spring and the two private wooden bucket tubs. After a long workday, soaking in the hot water left me feeling refreshed. My room was upgraded to a Japanese-style room with tatami, which was a fun experience. It was also extremely spacious, with a living room, patio, ocean view, and a bathroom that meant I had to run around to get between things. Dinner and breakfast were buffet style, with beer and sake machines. I’d never seen those before and loved the foam on the beer. The hotel is locally loved and run by elderly people, so service can be slow sometimes. It’s a vacation spot, though, so you can take your time and relax. The amenities were great, the room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I’d give it five out of five and can’t wait to come back.

I read the comments and saw a lot of low ratings, but I thought the hotel was fine for its very reasonable price. Dinner is a buffet with beer and soft drinks, and breakfast is included too. The onsen wasn’t bad either. It’s an old hotel, so I wasn’t expecting a lot, but for the price it was okay. The view is really good, right in front of the port, where you can see boats and ships going to and from Hatsusgima and ooshima. The ropeway and most popular spots in atam are within walking distance. There’s also a shuttle between Atami Station and the hotel, so that gets a thumbs up from me. I’d definitely use it again. Too bad the fireworks were canceled, the view would have been really nice.

A very reasonably priced hotel in Atami, with a free ride from ATami station. The buffet was so good, with all-you-can-eat sushi and all-you-can-drink alcohol.

The hot spring was the real highlight, really good. The buffet was just okay, and the hotel itself is very cheap, with old facilities and only the basics for service. Best not to expect too much.
