AIEN Coffee and hostel

The café became a big part of my month at Aien Hostel. I loved the coffee and matcha, and especially the French toast, which I still think about. Their merch is fun and fits the creative feel, and plenty of local regulars come in every day. There’s a lot of art and music in the place, from the general atmosphere to playlists that change with the mood and time of day. The staff work hard to keep things running. Some take on both housekeeping and café jobs, and everyone I met was friendly and polite, making it easy to feel at home. One of the women even remembered my birthday, which really made my day. There’s usually something going on, including a local market on Sundays. You can rent a bike and do laundry, and a large supermarket with just about everything is two minutes away. American Village is around a 15-minute walk, with shops, cafés, restaurants, and sunsets I won’t forget. Buses are nearby too. Aien Hostel was much more than somewhere to sleep for me. I’m grateful for the time I spent there, and I’d happily return.

We like stopping by for coffee and a chat. It’s got a funky, welcoming feel, the staff are great, and the food’s good.

The staff were really nice. The dorms, though, badly need ventilation. In a 20-bed room there’s no noticeable airflow at all, and the air gets uncomfortable and unhealthy.

I haven’t stayed at the Hostel, but Aien is my regular Uber Eats working lunch. I usually order the Quinoa and Fruit Salad, Chicken Tacos, and Chai Latte. Always so yummy and fresh!!!
