GUESTHOUSE富士と碧

The guesthouse itself is spotless, and the dorm is unusually spacious. It’s a very good place to stay. Fuji, though, was the least enjoyable of the nearly 40 Japanese cities and towns I’ve visited alone. I found the cleanliness, infrastructure, energy, and things to do worse than elsewhere in Japan. I was also the only guest that night, with no staff around, and a vague fear kept me awake the entire time. I won’t forget that night.

After two years of backpacking, this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The bed was comfy, everything was neat and clean, and the staff were so welcoming and sweet. Highly recommend it.

The rooftop was a highlight, with a stunning view of Mt. Fuji during its 6am to 10am opening hours. I liked the hostel enough to add another night to my stay. It’s also beautiful, very clean, and has excellent facilities with everything I needed. The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to make things right. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had a rainy week in Fuji and couldn’t see anything, which was such a disappointment. The hotel made the stay a bit better, though: it was surprisingly clean and had great amenities. Everyone was so friendly, and the receptionist and her little baby were especially adorable and loving. I’d recommend staying here while in Fuji.
