Hotel Vista Fukuoka Nakasu-Kawabata

I picked this place for its location and the good reviews about cleanliness and services. It's a straightforward stay with helpful staff and useful options like an onsen, laundry and luggage forwarding, which not every hotel has. The location worked well, and public baths could make it a solid choice if that's what you're after. The room was generally clean, but there was noticeable dust on the lamp and hangers, leaving me wondering how often deeper cleaning happens. There was a kettle, but no mugs or tea, so it wasn't much use. When I mentioned at check-in that I was celebrating a special occasion, the first response was indifferent. Some staff were friendly, while others felt distant, possibly because of a language barrier. Keep expectations modest if you're hoping for a personal touch on a special occasion.

The large public bath was clean, roomy and comfortable. Service was good, and they checked me in early because a room was available. That flexibility stood out, since many Japanese hotels won't let you check in before the stated time even when the room is ready. I stayed on a weekend for 14,000 JPY, quite cheap for the area. Nakasu-Kawabata Station is a few minutes away on foot, with convenience stores, malls and shopping streets nearby. The room was EXTREMELY SMALL, with no room to open luggage and no view. The layout was strange and uncomfortable. The ceiling-mounted air conditioner blew straight onto the bed no matter how much I adjusted it. There was no front desk number on the phone, and the lack of a way to call felt very unfriendly, as the key card case said. Breakfast had lots of choices, but none of it was cooked or prepared well. I'd rather eat at a nearby cafe or restaurant.

The rooms are a little small, but the beds were comfortable and I enjoyed the public bath. The lobby felt welcoming, and the staff were friendly. The metro station is close enough to reach easily.

The toilet and washroom were clean, and the staff were really friendly. I also liked the location, with a park right across from the hotel and a subway station nearby. The room itself was stuffy: its window faced a neighboring building, was fogged over, and let in no sunlight. It was locked too, so I couldn't air out the room and had to leave the air conditioner running to feel comfortable.
