Getting into downtown Hakone was easy on foot, even though there aren't sidewalks along the road. It wasn't very busy. Everyone at the hotel was welcoming and accommodating, and our room was peaceful and amazing. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel. Dinner and breakfast kaiseki were both delicious. Incredible experience, 10/10!

Yuna Yoshikawa-San was wonderful, professional, kind, thoughtful, and generous. Thank you! We'll definitely come back. The hotel is gorgeous, from the lobby to the very BIG room, and the onsen was magnificent. THE restaurant was the best place to eat, with a delightful menu. This was the BEST place in Hakone and our favorite stop on the whole trip in Japan. A Must Stay. 🫶🫶🫶

The staff made our two nights at Kai Hakone feel special. We didn't catch everyone's name, but Taku, Saya, Risako, and Gen were especially fun and kind, and really lifted the experience. We also enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing baths and the activities. They were a unique way to learn about local industries and history.

Beautiful place for a short trip. We were lucky enough to get snowfall, and enjoyed hearing the history behind the food we were served at each meal.
