If you’re here for the slopes, it’s good value. It’s basically a homemade hostel in someone’s private house, much as you’d imagine. The beds and shower are decent, and there’s a usable kitchen, but no living room. It’s a bit away from the action, though the host is super nice and will drive you wherever you need to go.

I had a room to myself at Hakuba Share House, a cabin that’s a nice quiet place to stay. The host was extremely kind and hospitable, and drove me to one of the local mountain resorts for free.
