I only rented a snowboard and boots, I didn't stay there. The price was great, the powder board was high quality, and the boots were comfortable and easy to use. The owner was really friendly too. Highly recommend!

The owner also sells snowboards and paddle boards, and there's a fireplace to keep warm in winter. The air-conditioning is only on level 1. It can be warmer during the day, but it gets nicely cool at night. A great place to stay, and I'd recommend coming in winter for the full experience.

The manager was friendly and made a difference. The heating could be insufficient in winter, though, and firewood costs an extra 1000 yen per night. The wi-fi was very poor. I couldn't keep WhatsApp calls going or maintain a steady connection even while browsing.

Higashikawa Town was so peaceful and quiet, and we really enjoyed being there with our big family in summer 2023. The house was clean and comfortable, and the outdoor barbecues were a lot of fun. My kids and I have fond memories of catching grasshoppers and frogs in the bushes nearby. It was quite hot, partly because there was no air-conditioning upstairs. There was also no hand soap or bath chair. Still, our family of about 10 had fun sleeping together on the first floor. The owner was friendly and nice, and I'd like to stay with us again if I get the chance.
