Hotel Jupiter - Adults Only

The price and other details I found were completely different from what I was told. I checked two websites, and neither had it right. When I couldn’t find the information on the hotel site, they said it was listed there because it was peak season. They also claimed it was on the touch panel, but wouldn’t let me use the panel, and I still couldn’t find it despite their insistence. The only periods listed were Obon, New Year’s, and Golden Week. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are working days and public holidays now, so none of those applied. The listed price was 12,500 yen, but I was charged 16,500 yen, with checkout at 10 AM and a 2,000 yen cancellation fee. The female staff member’s service wasn’t unpleasant, but they acted as if the mistake was theirs rather than mine. It felt like a rip-off. The rooms are small, though generally clean. Stay if you’re okay with all that. The information differed so drastically that I ended up a little annoyed with the staff, and I’m giving one star out of apology.

The front desk service is really terrible, as many people have said, so it’s best to avoid staying here. You can book online for one person, but if you order delivery, they charge for two. The hotel food is all frozen convenience-store food, overpriced and not very tasty. It’s a long walk to the bar district, and a taxi costs 1,000 yen each way, so factor 2,000 yen for a round trip into your hotel plans.

The website information doesn’t match what they tell you. I checked in around 11 PM, was told checkout was at 10 AM, and paid 25,000 yen for one night. The room was so shabby that it wasn’t worth that price. Maybe because it’s a fraudulent hotel, the receipt didn’t even show the hotel name. This place is awful. Don’t go!

What makes this place stand out from the nearby love hotels is that the quality and service are better than average. That also means it gets busy and rooms fill quickly. Membership discounts are surprisingly good and start on check-in day, so getting a card before paying seems worthwhile. You can book online, stay solo, and come and go as you like. Each room has password-protected Wi-Fi and an automatic payment machine that takes cards. The rooms are clean, from average-sized to a little small, while corner rooms are roomy for the price. The hallways feel like those in a business hotel, and the toilets don't have showers, although the bathrooms themselves are quite large. Some rooms have standalone tubs. The front desk is on the second floor, above the mechanical parking area on the first. You need to leave your car keys at reception. High-roof cars can park at ground level if you let the desk know. The hotel was renovated in spring 2018, mainly on the second floor, where there's now a drink bar and bath salts bar. There are drink vending machines on every floor. On weekdays, the first five parties to arrive get a special 4,980 yen rate. The sister hotel "GiNGA" on the same street doesn't have automatic checkout machines and doesn't take cards. The other hotels nearby are rubbish!
