Food is easy to get to, and there’s a supermarket nearby. The place is quiet too, apart from fighter jets from the nearby army base during the day. We were out most of the time on holiday, so that didn’t bother us. The ocean view was lovely, and the parking seemed pretty decent: 1000yen per day for a reserved spot. We also liked having a washing machine and detergent in the room. When dryers weren’t available or we didn’t want to pay, the bathroom drying mode got our clothes dry overnight. The bed was comfortable, though the noisy blankets and another party moving around woke us a few times during the night.

Locally, the place is known as Mr. Kinjo, though it’s no longer part of that chain. The rooms have plenty of equipment, but they didn’t feel clean enough for me to relax. The bathroom fan was noisy when left on overnight, yet switching it off meant waking up to a humid room.

The staff were very kind and did their best in English to explain where I could park my motorcycle and how to use the front doors. For the price, I was surprised by how nice the hotel was. It’s no five-star place, but it has a nice atmosphere, a hot shower, and a great view, and it was a cheap place to stay for a night or two. I stayed while movers were taking all my furniture, and it was worth it. The thin walls were the problem: I heard people walking and sliding chairs all night, which woke me up a lot. I didn’t complain since they weren’t playing TV or talking loudly. With quiet neighbors, or no neighbors, I think you’d sleep well. Light sleepers might get unlucky.

For just JPY 4,000/day, I had a mini kitchen, fridge, laundry in the room, and a spacious balcony with a great view. The price, facilities, hospitality, and location make this the best hostel I’ve stayed in so far. Mr.Kinjo offers a really good deal, and I’d highly recommend it.
