Kitamura made the afternoon check-in easy, answering my questions, arranging breakfast vouchers for the next few days, and booking dinner at the hotel. Earlier, when I arrived at 10:30 in the morning, Shinde kindly confirmed my reservation and stored my bags. Even with the language barrier, he communicated in English and made me feel welcome. Both were enthusiastic and helpful, and they made my day. I hope their service gets recognized, and that other visitors to Kanazawa get to experience the same warmth.

A good place to pause before catching a train. I spent a couple of hours at the public bath, which has several different baths and an outdoor one overlooking the skyline. The relaxation area was lovely too, with really comfortable chairs for reading or taking a nap.

The one thing this hotel has going for it is how close it is to the train station. I mistakenly booked a smoking room, but the smell was so awful it made me feel sick, and the room was quite dirty too. There were piles of hair in the carpet, which looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. The staff apologized and did their best, but we left and found another nearby hotel for the same price that was much, much better.

The room was limited on space, but that seemed fair for the location and type of accommodation. The station is so close you barely get wet walking there. A friendly staff member welcomed me with a smile and took my bags before check-in, and checkout was easy. The cleaning staff were polite too. I like APA hotels.

The rooms on the fourth floor had mold. I asked to change rooms and was moved to another one with mold. It made my companion, who was already recovering from jet lag, very sick.
