Lian Kanazawa

The location made it easy to get to Marue Hikosoten supermarket, Hippo and Watanabeya bakeries, M’ZA department store, and Omicho Market. The art museum district and the newer southern part of town were about a 30-minute walk away. We liked the large, clean room, comfortable beds, furnishings, art, and thoughtful touches like local tea bags. There’s also a coin laundry on the ground floor. Lian feels more like a serviced apartment with around eight rooms than a hotel. Staff aren’t there all the time, usually only for arrivals and departures, but they arranged to meet us when we arrived and were there at checkout too. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly, and they replied quickly on WhatsApp when we had questions. The welcome papers had QR codes for nearby breakfast and dinner suggestions. Staff received our forwarded luggage, and the person at checkout kindly helped send it on to our next stop. We had everything we needed, though anyone wanting staff on site all the time may prefer a full-service hotel. One thing to know: daytime muzak plays from speakers on the small street, and you can hear it in the front rooms with the windows open. That’s not Lian’s responsibility, but it may be useful to know.
