Onyado Nono Kanazawa Natural Hot Spring Hotel

We only spent one night and wished we’d booked more. The room was cozy, with a great view over Kanazawa, and the hotel is right by the market where we got fresh food. The onsen was amazing, and the free ice cream afterward was much appreciated. They also served complimentary ramen in the restaurant in the evening. An absolutely amazing stay.

We had a lovely city view while it snowed, and the room was thoughtfully laid out. This traditional Japanese hotel is near downtown, with tatami throughout, so you leave your shoes at the entrance. They provide robes to wear to breakfast and the rooftop onsen, very cute and comfortable. Breakfast had enough to eat and a good range of Japanese dishes. The staff were friendly and attentive. I’d happily return and highly recommend it.

We visited Kanazawa in winter, and this hotel was over the top. It might look expensive at first, but I didn’t find it so. The rooms are really nice, and the staff felt professional, spoke English pretty well, and helped with anything we needed. The onsen is unique and has a sauna inside. On the top floor there was free ice cream, and several manga to read. They also give you half a ramen for free at night in the restaurant. And do yourself a favor and book breakfast there, it’s worth every coin. The hotel is well placed for walking to lots of things around Kanazawa, saving time and money on the subway or bus. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting.

The breakfast was delicious, with fresh sashimi and tempura in the 3,000-yen-per-person buffet. I also really liked the facilities and found the location handy, right beside Omicho market. The onsen was great too, though it got crowded every evening and I had to wait a little to shower.
