B&B Hotel Hyochoan

We chose B&B Hyochoan because the hotels near Stone Church were fully booked for our wedding. Our stay felt warm and caring from start to finish. We took the wrong Shinkansen and arrived around 9 p.m., but the hosts were waiting, came out to greet us, and helped with our taxi luggage. Hot tea was ready inside, and they showed us how everything in the room worked. The house was very clean, with a spacious green backyard that was a lovely surprise. Breakfast in the morning was a delicious, carefully prepared Japanese meal. As we were leaving, we mentioned our wedding, and the elderly hosts surprised us with a bottle of wine. They also thoughtfully printed our invoice with a photo taken during our stay and local sightseeing suggestions. The price felt the fairest and most reasonable in the area. Highly recommended!

I spent a night here with breakfast. The hosts are friendly and do their best to make you feel at home. The Japanese breakfast was perfect, and I ate every course until I was full. I’m writing this from the balcony, looking at the woods and enjoying the sounds of nature.

The view from this home hotel is beautiful, and Ayako made us a gorgeous, delicious Japanese breakfast. The hostesses are so lovely that staying here feels like being welcomed into someone’s private home.

I arrived feeling sick, but the hosts took such good care of me that I was much better after three days in Karuizawa and ready to continue our trip around Japan. The breakfasts and dinner were delicious, too. They even took me on a car tour so I could see Karuizawa while I was still unwell. The hosts were simply amazing and went beyond what I expected. Thank you very much!
