The meals were generous and really good, and the whole stay felt warm and comfortable, almost like being at my parents’ home. We were there for two nights for the Oje Wetland Trekking. They drove us early to the Hatomachi Pass bus stop, then waited in the parking lot after our trek. We were very grateful for that.
The rooms have big windows and lovely views, and there’s plenty of space. We had the place to ourselves on a weekday in January. The living room fireplace should appeal to anyone who likes campfires. Food was delicious, and the bedding, guest rooms, and dining room were all comfortable and clean. The hot spring bath is small, though there’s room to stretch your legs and relax. We’d stay again for skiing at Katashina Plateau or Iwanuma. Wi-Fi is available, but the password isn’t posted, so ask the owner.
I come back whenever I visit Oze. Dinner is a great time, with tasty food and fun conversations about Oze. The owners are a lovely couple 😊
The owners make you feel as if you’re visiting family, they’re so warm and welcoming. The building is old, but it’s kept up and very clean, so staying there was comfortable. They’re especially proud of the fireplace.
The food was delicious, and the place seems thoughtfully put together. Paintings and photographs line the corridors. The rooms have a clean, business hotel feel.
