We wanted to book the hotel restaurant and politely asked whether they served sushi made in front of you. They called the question unreasonable and outrageous.

Dinner was the highlight for me. The Kaiseki dishes looked beautiful, and the flavor was even better, with everything tasting fresh and delicious. I came away from each course feeling rejuvenated. The hotel was peaceful, and both the bedroom and onsen room looked better than the photos. There are two private onsen baths, with hardly any wait, so I could enjoy a soak before bed and again in the morning.

The private hot springs and noon checkout made for a wonderfully slow morning. This inn has the feel of a traditional Japanese house, along with great food and hospitality. They can also accommodate dietary needs like Halal and Vegan, so I’m hoping to come next time with friends. I’d choose a stay in Arima Onsen over the crowds in Osaka or Kyoto.

We walked to the guesthouse from the train station, and it has two onsens that you can use privately. The whole stay was probably one of the best experiences we’ve had in Japan. We upgraded to Kobe beef at dinner, and it was absolutely worth it. Every dish felt carefully thought out and tasted delicious. It may have been the best dinner experience we’ve ever had.

A nice little place to stay while exploring Arima Onsen. The short walk from the bus station was convenient, though there’s no lift, so travel light. I loved the private onsen and sauna, and dinner was the highlight. Enjoyed my stay.
