The hotel staff were very friendly, and I enjoyed my stay in what is apparently Kobe's oldest hotel. The building itself is old. Breakfast came with my plan, and I could pick French toast, pizza toast, or regular toast. It was a filling meal with salad, soup, eggs, sausage, vegetable juice, fruit, and coffee or tea. The location is handy, about 7-8 minutes from Sannomiya Station. I also went to Ikuta Shrine, Nankinmachi, the Western-style building, and the Port Tower.

A quiet spot for coffee, and you can smoke in the lobby, so smokers may like it. They grind the beans after you order. I had a hot coffee, which tasted as weak as American coffee. The restroom has that old-fashioned air freshener smell. It brought to mind a Showa-era coffee shop.

The retro-looking rooms might suit some people, though others may not care for them. It's near the station, and the price was reasonable even in peak season.
