Royal Park Hotel Kurashiki

We were a family of four, two adults and kids aged 12 and 14, and stayed for two nights in connecting double and twin rooms. The double was tiny, with an Australian-sized double bed pushed against one wall. The twin room had two single beds and more space to move around. Both rooms were clean and quiet, the staff were friendly, and the beds were extremely firm.

Right in the historic district, this was a cosy and comfortable hotel. I loved the traditional Japanese breakfast and the onsen, and even the little touches like sake and blueberry juice at reception. Everything felt perfect, and I'd highly recommend it to tourists.

Dear Park Royal Kurashiki Management, After driving more than eight hours from Fukuoka to Kurashiki, I expected a welcoming, comfortable stay, but I was disappointed by the service. I asked for extra pillows and was told they couldn't be provided because my booking was for just one night. That seemed unusual, but I accepted it. Later, when I asked the front desk for drinking water, Mr. Nitta refused my request. I find it unacceptable and unprofessional to deny a guest such a basic amenity. Access to drinking water should be a standard courtesy no matter how long someone is staying. I hope management looks into this seriously and takes steps to prevent the same thing happening again.

The design is thoughtful and comfortable, with sliding doors that save space and flat horizontal wall plugs that keep heavy power adaptors from falling out. The place was clean, good value, and I appreciated having both a pool table and a smoking room.
