Hanayado Baelz

The room was clean and cozy. I stayed for two nights in a single room.

There are nicer hotels around, but this one is cheap and the staff are nice.

The only downside was hearing footsteps and running water from the room next door. The walls seemed thin. Otherwise, the building was spotlessly clean, with flowers everywhere, all real, which made it feel especially pleasant. My room had been renovated last year and was spacious, clean, and very nice. The hot springs are open all day, and an early morning visit meant I had one to myself. Coffee in the morning was delicious, and milk and juice were there to enjoy freely. It's a bit far from Yubatake, so having the large parking lot was a real help. I'd like to stay here again on another trip to Kusatsu.

We stayed for two days in early December last year, and the staff gave us a warm welcome after our trip all the way from Kyushu. There was a mix-up between our reservation and the hotel about dinner, but one of the women on staff did her best to sort it out. Being able to use the private bath in both the morning and evening was fantastic. It's not especially close by, but I'd still love to return someday.
