Kanra Kyoto Hotel

The workshops were the part I’ll remember most. We tried kanji calligraphy and origami folding at the hotel, which was a lovely way to enjoy some culture on a day when we wanted to rest after all the walking. Toshi guided both sessions, and he was so kind and funny. Huge thanks to him for such a memorable experience. It’s also easy to get around from here, with a subway and bus station close by and a 7-Eleven about two minutes away. The hotel’s design speaks for itself, and the staff are attentive. One of my favorite hotels.

The staff made such a difference to our stay. Their English was very good, while my Japanese is quite bad, and they were patient and helpful throughout. It made the trip feel much less stressful, and I’m really grateful. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and elegant, and the convenient location helped make our time in Kyoto so much more enjoyable. An amazing hotel.

This was our favorite place to stay in Japan. It felt peaceful and zen, and the people were incredibly friendly. The service was top notch. Kyoto Station, the main station for high-speed rail, is about a 15-minute walk away. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, and the Wi-Fi fast. There was even a little front porch for each room, with a gate in front of the door that added to the feng shui. The spa was the most incredible one I’ve been to. They also kept a 24-hour open bar with coffee, juice, sake, and wine. A no-brainer to book.

The rooms were very clean and modern, and it was clear a lot of thought had gone into the details, especially in the bathrooms. Room service attendance was something we overlooked since we’re young and everything was conveniently placed, but managing without it was easy. The location is nearly perfect, right beside a major historical landmark and away from Kyoto’s crowded areas. The subway is a two-minute walk, a 7-Eleven is ten seconds away, and 24-hour laundry is three minutes away. This hotel deserves five stars.
