The Hiramatsu Kyoto

The Kaiseki breakfasts were the part I'll remember. I've had dozens, but these were on another level, with such fine ingredients. The rice alone blew me away, and the pickles were prepared so delicately. The rooms are huge, the bedding is comfortable, and the service is excellent. This hotel is insanely good. I'll keep coming back.

My husband and I spent two nights here on our honeymoon and loved the stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the hotel was quiet and relaxing. It's in a trendy residential area that isn't too touristy, with great restaurants and cute shops nearby. Service was impeccable, as it always is in Japan. We also spent two nights at the Hiramatsu Atami, which was incredible!

We love this hotel! The place is beautiful, but the service is even better. When we arrived, we realized we'd left our bag and passports on the train. The staff, especially Miss Hiyuna, did so much to help us get them back. Every time we come to Kyoto, we'll come back here.

Traveling with our baby was easy here. They supplied a baby robe, toothbrush, and other baby amenities. The rooms are thoughtfully put together, blending Japanese architecture with modern comforts, and the hotel has lovely zen gardens. It's one of the best boutique hotels I've stayed at, with very friendly staff who make the experience feel personal. Highly recommend if you're after a boutique stay.
