The young owner was so kind and attentive, and kept starting conversations with me. They made breakfast a little earlier, which let me reach the Nishinoomote ferry check-in despite taking a slight detour. The breakfast and dinner were thoughtful and really delicious, from the side dishes to the rice. I even asked for seconds~✨ After visiting the space center, I stayed the night in nearby Minamitane town. The guesthouse matched the reviews and went well beyond what I expected, becoming a memorable part of my Tanegashima trip. 🏚️✨ There's nothing around but nature 🌱, and on a beautiful spring morning I woke to the refreshing sound of a nightingale. 🌅 The air and tap groundwater tasted delicious. Apparently fuel testing 🚀°.✧⚡︎ was happening at the space center 💫 early that morning, but I didn't hear or notice it, which was a little disappointing. 😅 You'll need GPS to find the place. There's a gas station nearby, plus Tonmi Market for souvenir bento boxes, though I couldn't get any on Sunday 💦. Tanegashima Onsen Center has smooth, silky hot springs ♨️♪ I was so tired I fell asleep and didn't get to drink, which was a shame 💦. I wanted to compare the recommended local sake and shochu.

The young owner works hard and is a great cook. I could hear the neighbors talking and their TV through the thin room walls. I picked this place because I like quiet nights, but the other guests were somewhat noisy. Light from the hallway also came into the room, leaving it quite bright even with the lights off.

The food was the highlight for me. The fried flying fish was amazing, and the other dishes were great too. They serve alcohol at very reasonable prices. The young owner was attentive as well. If you're staying on Tanegashima's south side, this is the place to stay. It's about a 20-minute walk to the town center, so it's a good idea to take care of what you need to do at the guesthouse. I paid about 8,000 yen a night during peak season and had no complaints. I'd stay here again if I get the chance! ♪
